The Girl with the Katana

Faded dead leaves flutter to the ground

She sits, static, the soundless sound

Guiding her spirit, nowhere bound

For in nowhere is stillness found

Her thoughts discarded, mind empty

Though enemies surrounded her, plenty

She inhales, holds, exhales gently

Gripping her glinting sword firmly

As the first one rushes to her, screaming

Her blade swung in the morning light, gleaming

The one who rushed is now two, bleeding

Dead eyes replace ones that were seething

Again and again, one by one

They rushed her, and wildly swung

Her blade glinting in the morning sun

Their bodies sliced, cut, undone

In the end she stands there, unsmiling

Calmly sheathing her blade, sighing

Covered in blood, yet uncaring

Foes vanquished, yet rage undying
